There’s nothing better than biting into a pork chop that’s tender all the way through but finished with those golden-brown crispy edges. This recipe is all about balance: start with a hearty thick-cut chop, let it simmer gently in beer until the meat is fork-tender, then finish it in oil so the edges crisp and caramelize. The real star is the seasoning — our Italian Herb Seasoning — a mix of herbs and spices that brings out the natural flavor of pork and makes this simple dish feel special. Serve it hot out of the pan, and you’ll be hooked from the very first bite.
Ingredients
- 2–3 thick-cut pork chops (about ½-inch thick)
- ½ can (6 oz) beer
- 1–2 tbsp oil
- 2–3 tbsp Italian Herb Seasoning
- Optional: extra salt and pepper
Preparation Instructions
- Prep the chops: Rinse if desired, then pat dry. Place into a skillet.
- Beer braise: Pour in about ½ can of beer. Add Italian Herb Seasoning generously over the top.
- Simmer: Cover and cook at a gentle boil for 10–15 minutes.
- Crisp: Remove the cover and let the beer evaporate. Add oil and continue cooking until the chops brown and the edges turn crispy.
- Serve: Plate hot with your favorite sides.
